- What types of truck driving jobs does bartley offer? Our emphasis is on nationwide distribution in the Netherlands, allowing you to return home daily. Fortunately, we offer high-quality housing, enabling you to lead a regular life, enjoying daily showers and homemade dinners. The job may involve a bit more physical activity with visits to multiple clients each day, but the compensation is highly rewarding.
- What are the salary and benefits for truck drivers in the Netherlands? As a foreign truck driver, you will receive equivalent salary and benefits to your Dutch colleagues. The collective labor agreement provides a highly competitive paycheck with numerous additional perks. For more details, feel free to inquire with our recruiters.
- What licenses are required to work as a truck driver in the Netherlands? You require a valid driving license C or CE, depending on whether you will be operating a box truck or a trailer truck. Ensure that the license is valid for a minimum of 6 months, as clients prefer not to lose a driver due to an expired license shortly after starting. Code 95 is essential for professional work, and some companies may also require ADR certification when handling dangerous goods. Nevertheless, your attitude is paramount. If you are willing to listen, learn, and work diligently, the possibilities are endless.
- Is there assitance provided with work permits and visa processes?Bartley exclusively collaborates with drivers from the EU, eliminating the need for visas or work permits. Within the EU, you have the freedom to reside and work wherever you choose. Like in every EU country, you are required to have a social security number, known as a BSN number. Although there are typically long waiting lists to obtain this number, we can assist you in obtaining it quickly.
- What kind of accommodation and transportation does Bartley offer? Many agencies provide housing, either shared or private, with costs based on the Dutch tariff, usually around 150 euros per week. As part of our commitment to our truck drivers, we provide shared housing at no cost, only requesting a nominal fee for gas, electricity, internet, and waste disposal. Private rooms can be arranged upon request, and we offer them at highly competitive prices. If you require a car for commuting to work, Bartley can assist you with this. Simply inquire with your recruiter for more information.
- Are there language requirements for truck drivers, and is language training provided? As you interact with numerous clients and planners throughout your daily routes in the Netherlands, effective communication is crucial. Speaking Dutch is not mandatory, as most people in the Netherlands are fluent in English. You recognize the importance of having a solid command of the English language, both in written and spoken form.
- How does the scheduling work for truck drivers in the Netherlands?Given that you'll be following a daily routine with nights (or days) spent at home, managing your tachograph should pose fewer challenges. Nevertheless, for those drivers exceeding 60 or 70 hours per week, careful scrutiny of the schedule is imperative. It's crucial to note that the rules remain consistent across the EU.
- How does the agency handle health insurance and medical support for truck drivers? We provide medical insurance in the Netherlands tailored to the needs of foreign workers. Having insurance is crucial since you'll be residing in the Netherlands for a significant portion of the year. Furthermore, obtaining mandatory insurance is a requirement within four months after arriving in the Netherlands.
- What safety measures and training programs are in place for truck drivers?Upon commencing the job, undergoing standard training is necessary to familiarize yourself with the specific procedures associated with each client. Regardless of your prior experience, this training is mandatory. It is highly advisable to approach this training with seriousness. If you demonstrate proficiency as a driver and employee, many clients may provide additional training opportunities, enabling you to learn about different vehicles, alternative routes, and more. This, in turn, can lead to increased hours and a higher paycheck.
- What support is available in case of emergencies on the job?Typically, clients notify us when incidents occur. Historically, we have extended our support by arranging for a driver to visit the doctor or even the hospital. Such assistance is an integral part of our service. We can aid you in overcoming language barriers and guide you through all the procedures associated with an accident.
